Young Carers – We Need Your Voice!

We know that young carers in Scotland are severely impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic, but we need to raise more awareness. Help Carers Trust Scotland get your voice heard

Coronavirus is having a disproportionate impact on the lives of unpaid carers. A recent Carers UK survey found that 70% of carers are providing more care due to Coronavirus, with 35% providing more care as a result of the closure or reduction of local services.

However, there is still an evidence gap on how Coronavirus is impacting young carers (aged up to 17) and young adult carers (aged 18 to 25), so Carers Trust Scotland needs your help in gathering the data to have your voice heard.

Anecdotal evidence from across carer services suggests young carers and young adult carers are being disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, with many experiencing significantly increased anxiety levels as well as difficulty in accessing food.

This survey asks whether this is true for young carers and young adult carers – and, if so, in what ways.

Let’s get your voice heard.
